The house, built in 1871, has long been an integral part of the history of the Fenwick beach community, which is located in Old Saybrook CT. Working with Celebration Green Builders, the house was carefully and completely restored.

The client’s vision was to maintain the historic character and feel of the home, while creating a comfortable weekend retreat. This goal became the primary focus during the planning and design process. The complete restoration of this home was a perfect opportunity to thoroughly modernize the home, including modern conveniences, new baths, kitchen, storage closets, and energy-efficient features. Due to the age of the home and the restrictions from the local Historic Commission, many of the modern improvements required creative problem solving.
