Bridgeport, CT Home by David Barbour Architecs

 Kalamazoo, Michigan Home

While living in Michigan, the clients have a special affection for New England styles of architecture. They love the detail, whimsy and fairy tale quality of many late nineteen-century Victorian, Shingle style homes overlooking the Atlantic coast. They love the exuberant forms and sprawling character and charm of these older homes. Communicating their architectural dreams, the clients asked David Barbour Architects to create a unique home for their private, wooded property. The design of the home gently cascades down the sloped property and wraps itself around the entrance drive while also wrapping itself around the rear focal point, a small pond where the family members swim in summer and ice skate in winter. The design of the home uniquely captures the architectural spirit and character the clients were hoping for.
